They either purposely leave out info, or they assume you know stuff you do not know, or maybe they are just bad teachers. Teaching is actually a whole lot harder than people think it is. To create a product that people will view by themselves, with no one to ask questions of, and truly make it understandable for a wide variety of people at a wide variety of skill levels is pretty darn hard. I think most of the marketing "gurus" are not really up to that task although their egos tell them that they are. Then no doubt they get a lot of people kissing their butt and telling them that they are great even if they can not really teach their way out of a paper bag. IMHO.
Thanks.
Lorraine

Re: How to Make a Transparent “Walk-on” Video, Part 2

Thanks for the reply. I have found so many great videos that are not ranked and are not commented on. It really depends on how harrow the niche is and who you are talking to. Many people may love a video or an article, but don't make comments.

I wish more people would make comments because it is a great way to interact with people of like minds.

Re: How to Make a Transparent “Walk-on” Video, Part 2

I am not sure what you mean by "float" in the window. Perhaps you can explain further.

My website is designed to instruct and I don't sell a specific service along these lines. I feel the pain of many who are interested in doing transparent videos but don't have the time nor the luck to find the right components and training to produce their own.

By the way, there are some companies that I have partnered with that I make a small amount of money if you subscribe through my site. It is done more as a convenience, actually, than as a way to make gobs of money.

I don't have a product that I can point you to. That is why I have decided to do these videos to help people progress. (Perhaps, I will turn it into a product, but not yet.)

In my next video, I will show you the player I use and I will go through the details of putting a video on your page.

Re: Most Web Videos Stink - You Cannot Speed Read Through

To my opinion it sure is a problem. What settings do you use to have the video 'float' in the window?
Is your website designed to instruct or are you selling a service? Do you have a step-by-step instruction from videoing to coding and uploading flash files to the website? Or is this beyond the scope of your presentation? If so, do you recommend a program or product? Thanks!

Re: Tired Of Hearing Affiliate Marketing Success Stories?

what i'm really tired of are so called gurus who only give out bits and pieces of info , very rare that you will get the whole picture, so you end up buying more and more, going after the next shiny object ... so off I go to watch the video :-)

Re: How to Make a Transparent “Walk-on” Video, Part 2

You are welcome. It was nighttime and so the only light was coming from incandescent bulb. (These are your normal room light bulbs, standard bulbs so to speak.)
I could not believe how orange the picture was! It was unusable. I waited until the next day and the room was filled with diffused light coming from the windows in addition to the same incandescent bulbs! The mixture actually produced a good color!
So here we have a web cam automatically white balanced for a mixture! I was amazed! There was no way on this little camera to adjust the white balance, the auto setting worked best under a mixture, which is smart really, Very practical. More real-world, probably.
Incandescent bulbs are very orange, even more orange than tungsten hallogen, which is what standard TV lights are.

Only a camera nerd like me would be facinated by this sort of thing, but hey, I yam what I yam and that's all I yam.

Popeye and Lorraine Grula

Re: How to Make a Transparent Video Using Adobe After Effects

Nice tactics mentioned.
Hope it would help

Re: Google Adwords Course by the Expert Brad Callen

Thanks for sharing! :D

Re: How to Make a Transparent Video Using Adobe After Effects

That's right. It needs to be a continuous color. Usually it is a blue screen or a green screen. The reason for a green screen is that you can chroma screen it out and not affect skin tones.

Therefore, you'd probably be better off if you use a green screen. It will work with people and anything else.

Re: How to Make a Transparent Video Using Adobe After Effects

Hi there,

So this is the only way of doing this i.e having a green (or i assume any coloured screen) behind the person as long as the person is not wearing that colour ??

For exmaple you couln't do it with an everyday background ??

Great video and thanks for any help.

Re: Properly Tagging Your Videos for Search Engines

Richard, thank you so very much for your time invested in helping us understand the mystery of video tagging. I've always wondered what makes Google index a video with the image of the video to the left, while Google indexes other videos without that image. That image draws the searchers attention and figuring out that mystery can really help your site in terms of traffic. We do appreciate you so much!
